Historic Battleship Overnight Experience
Follow the fleet! All hands on deck for an overnight stay on the Battleship New Jersey, aka the “Black Dragon.” Experience what it was like to be a sailor during World War II. Nearly three football fields long, and eleven stories high the legendary vessel is the nation’s longest and most decorated battleship. Walk the gangway and explore the ship’s original ladders and companionways. Imagine her awesome power, including the nine, 16-inch barrel guns that once reached land targets nearly 23 miles away. Your evening exploration includes a guided tour of the combat engagement and communications centers, the machine shop, the bridge and the Tomahawk cruise missile launchers, as well as the captain and admiral’s quarters.
